Intro:
This activity covers the development of the Christmas Shopping Event introduced back in 2019 on the first Tuesday of December. A summary of activity is as follows:
- 2021 - 24 shops open, 156 sales (recorded by raffle tickets issued), larger Christmas Section on website, Christmas windows and examples of items for sale. Affected by Covid restrictions and Storm Barra which hit around 1530 - 1630. Around 12 shop owners joined us for a drink in The Angus afterwards.
- 2020 - last minute decision due to Covid, quiet evening but people did go out.
- 2019 - first year, mulled wine & mince pies in Royal Hotel, 28 shops open with 174 sales (recorded by raffle tickets issued) and nice gathering of shop owners post event
